Bio
Hi, I’m Morgan Reece. I’m a homeschool mom of six, former legal secretary, and unexpected advocate for creatives. If you are selling on Merch by Amazon, Etsy, Redbubble, or other print-on-demand platforms, we need to talk!
Smarter Joy is my brain on the web. I blog about Christian living, mom life, personal development, and working from home. A second blog, The Trademark Canary, serves creatives in the print-on-demand industry in the fight against frivolous trademarks.
My Entrepreneur Journey
My entrepreneur journey has included:
- Blogging at A Smarter Mom. The site was thoroughly hacked via a spoiled plugin. I ended up taking everything down (and learned a lot about hacking dangers). It’s why I don’t compromise on security measures like strong passwords, vetting plugins, and quality hosting;
- Self-publishing 7 Gifts: Seeds of Success Mom Planted, a tribute to my mom that was completed just in time for her birthday (second edition coming soon);
- Selling via Amazon FBA (mostly seasonal gifts sets created with a mix of retail arbitrage, wholesale buys and premium packaging); and,
- Merch by Amazon (my introduction into print-on-demand).
The Entrepreneur Journey has changed me in profound ways that have nothing to do with making money, and yet everything to do with making money. It’s taught me what The Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12) looks like in business, and inspired an abundance mindset that I only thought I had before.
These changes happened through the influence of famous and not-so-famous people, including many who took time to help and inspire others even though their businesses were far from on autopilot. I’m grateful.
Learning how these generous souls are being impacted by trademark trolls and bullies inspired me to join the fight against frivolous trademarks. I hope that, through this website, I’ll be able to inspire you to get involved as well! And yet…
And yet, there are so many things that are even more important than business and money. To see my overall vision for this site, go here.
